Theater, music and film arts museum

Exhibition is devoted to the history of development of Ukrainian theater, from ancient ritual games up to the beginning of XX century.

Museum is located within the territory of Kievo'Pecherskaya Lavra in two'stored building of the former lavra hospital. Current exhibit was created in the beginning of 1980. is devoted to the history of development of Ukrainian theater, from ancient ritual games up to the beginning of XX century. There are more than 4000 various exhibits presented there.

Exhibition starts from 3 antique boothes (puppet show booths). Special attention is drawn to the activities of the prominent Ukrainian actors. Museum exhibits their stage costumes, personal belongings, sculptures and portraits, manuscripts, dairies. There are also shown multiple playbills and programs. Second floor exhibition is devoted to national traditional Ukrainian instruments: bandura, lyre, dulcimer, ocarina, penny whistle. Also presented limited collection of musical boxes.
