There is a legend that one rainy November day famous writer Nikolay Gogol walked by Kiev, he caught a cold and that’s why all his thoughts were about nose. So the «Nose» story idea appeared.
Gogol’s nose sculpture history
This nose with the moustache hangs on the wall of house № 34 on Andreevskiy spusk and belongs to famous writer Gogol. The author of the sculpture is Oleg Dergachev. He created the sketch, casted the figure and presented it to «Triptih» gallery were he worked some time before. This not so big nose attracts multitude people — they wipe the nose and make photos with it.
